The new Julian Costello Quartet came together in 2016, played many venues across London and in April 2017 recorded an album called Transitions at The Artesuono Studios in Udine in Italy with ECM engineer Stefano Amerio. The album was released in Septemebr 2017 on 33Jazz records.

They toured England twice supported by the Arts Council of England, performed at The EFG London Jazz Festival to packed houses,  wonderful concerts in Paris & St Etienne in France and toured  Poland, Germany and Belgium in 2019.

 

The Quartet has record a new album Connections at the studios of Norwegian Pianist Øystein Sevåg in Norway engineered by Sebastian Ohmert which will be released March 2020 on 33jazz Records with a tour to follow of the Uk supported by The Arts Council
